Identifying and fixing “duplicate” information is probably one of the more difficult challenges to improving enterprise data quality. Knowing what constitutes a duplication or representation of the same item, identifying it and then fixing it in an efficient manner consistent with business needs are problems not easily solved with the solutions available in the marketplace today. With 1Data, organizations of all sizes can now address this pervasive problem.
By using the new Entity Resolution Machine Learning Module in the 1Data platform, customers can take control of disparate data and create systematic linkage between records that represent the same thing. In other words, 1Data finds and groups similar rows from one or more datasets using an easy-to-use machine learning process. Using the 1Data wizards, customers can build, train and execute our Entity Resolution Machine Learning solution that can be fitted as part of 1Data workflow.
Sincera recently announced the release of its 1Data Low Code/No-Code Data Management Platform and this is blog post is the first of a series of posts and releases that will elaborate on real world problems and solutions that can be addressed using 1Data.
How it works
The Sincera 1Data Entity Resolution Machine Learning Module (Entity Resolution) is an add-on to the base 1Data Platform that provides a process that resolves entities and detects relationships. It can solve many different problems resulting from data entry errors, aliases, information silos and other issues where redundant data may cause confusion. The 1Data Entity Resolution Machine Learning Module plays an important role in a company’s Master Data Management process. Entity Resolution compiles entities in one central place for the purposes of deduplication and data management.
Once the Entity Resolution solutions have been executed, customers can review the solutions output in an easy-to-read tabular format. Records are grouped based on the probability of being similar. This is where the functionality of all other entity resolution solutions end and where 1Data continues to shine.
Once the Entity Resolution report has been created, customers can make changes to the data using the base 1Data application functionality. Customers can modify record groupings and send any changes back to the original data source. This can all be done using the standard 1Data Application GUI. It doesn’t end there.
Using the 1Data workflow, other reports can be generated and additional questions can be answered. For Example: How many times has a Vendor been to an office? Since a Vendor Name could be entered into a system many ways, creating a simple COUNT of a vendors could be problematic. Using 1Data’s Workflow process and its Entity Resolution Module, the 1Data Platform now allows companies to do smart grouping of similar vendors and to count the number of vendors in each group.
The power of the 1Data Workflow and its newly added Entity Resolution Machine Learning Module allow now allow for robust discovery and automated solutions to be easily created and executed by non-developers.
